Re: Proposed Policy on Graduation Notwithstanding a Deficiency
I submit the following draft policy for your consideration at Academic Council in September:
In exceptional circumstances, a dean may recommend to Academic Council that a student receive a degree or other qualification notwithstanding the fact that student has not completed all normal academic requirements. Deans will advise the Registrar of such candidates for graduation, and the Registrar will bring forward the following motion to Academic Council:
"The following students are recommended to Academic Council for graduation notwithstanding a deficiency in their academic history."
The Registrar will submit to Academic Council a list of such students with a brief explanation of the deficiency.
